Datadog pricing, worked out
Datadog bills each product separately: per host, per GB, per test run and per seat. The list prices are public, but the bill depends on how those meters combine. This page lists every price that matters for monitoring, then adds them up for a real team.
A team of five watching 25 endpoints, 4 servers and 2 databases pays $890 a month at Datadog list price. The same setup on NoDisrupt Pro is $26 a month.

|---|---|---|---|
| Infrastructure Pro | per host | $15 | $18 |
| Infrastructure Enterprise | per host | $23 | $27 |
| APM | per APM host | $31 | $36 |
| Log ingestion | per GB ingested | $0.10 | $0.10 |

| Synthetic API tests | per 10,000 test runs | $5 | $6 |
| Synthetic browser tests | per 1,000 test runs | $12 | $15 |
| Database Monitoring | per database host | $70 | $84 |
| Real User Monitoring (Measure) | per 1,000 sessions | $0.15 | $0.18 |
| On-Call | per seat | $20 | $24 |
| Incident Management | per seat | $30 | $36 |
Free tier: up to 5 hosts with 1-day metric retention. Infrastructure Pro includes 100 custom metrics per host (Enterprise 200); usage beyond that is billed separately and is not on the public list.
How a Datadog bill adds up
Infrastructure, APM and Database Monitoring each charge per host, separately. A database server with APM is billed three times.
Uptime and API checks are Synthetic tests, billed per run. Halving the interval doubles the cost; each extra location multiplies it again.
Logs are billed once to ingest and again to index, per million events, with the price rising for longer retention.
Incident Management and On-Call are billed per person, so the bill grows with the size of the rota, not the size of the system.
Worked example: a team of five
4 application servers, 2 PostgreSQL hosts, 25 website and API endpoints, and 5 engineers who respond to incidents. Datadog's free tier would cover the servers, but it keeps one day of metrics, so they are priced as Infrastructure Pro. Annual billing, list price, and synthetic runs prorated rather than rounded up to whole blocks.
Checks every 60 seconds, one location
Infrastructure Pro 4 hosts x $15 | $60 |
Database Monitoring 2 database hosts x $70 | $140 |
Synthetic API tests 1,080,000 runs / 10,000 x $5 | $540 |
Incident Management 5 seats x $30 | $150 |
| Datadog, per month | $890 |
| NoDisrupt Pro, per month | $26 |
Checks every 30 seconds, three locations
Infrastructure Pro 4 hosts x $15 | $60 |
Database Monitoring 2 database hosts x $70 | $140 |
Synthetic API tests 6,480,000 runs / 10,000 x $5 | $3,240 |
Incident Management 5 seats x $30 | $150 |
| Datadog, per month | $3,590 |
| NoDisrupt Pro, per month | $26 |
Same team, same services. Tightening the checks is the change most teams make after the first outage they hear about from a customer, and at Datadog it takes synthetic tests from $540 to $3,240 a month. NoDisrupt prices by monitor, not by run: Pro allows 250 monitors at intervals down to 30 sec for 5 users, so both versions of this setup cost the same $26 a month billed annually ($29 month-to-month).
Not included above: On-Call at $20 per seat, if you need paging rotas, and any logs, APM or custom-metric overage. Each would make the Datadog figure higher, not lower.
Estimate your own setup
Monitoring only, from one location. This calculator prices websites as Synthetic browser tests and APIs as Synthetic API tests, and counts your first 5 hosts as free. If plain HTTP checks are enough for your websites, enter them as APIs.

Common questions
How much does Datadog cost per host?
Infrastructure Pro is $15 per host per month billed annually, or $18 month-to-month. Enterprise is $23 annually or $27 month-to-month. APM is billed per host on top of that, at $31 annually, and Database Monitoring at $70 per database host.
Is Datadog free?
There is a free infrastructure tier for up to 5 hosts, but it keeps metrics for 1 day, so it suits a trial rather than production. Synthetics, logs, APM, database monitoring and incident management are all paid products.
How much do Datadog uptime checks cost?
Datadog runs HTTP and API uptime checks as Synthetic API tests at $5 per 10,000 runs (annual billing). Every run from every location is billed, so one check every 60 seconds from one location is 43,200 runs a month, about $21.60. The same check every 30 seconds from three locations is 259,200 runs, about $129.60.
Why is my Datadog bill higher than expected?
Usually because several meters grow at once. Synthetic runs multiply by interval and by location, indexed logs are billed per million events on top of per-GB ingestion, custom metrics beyond the per-host allowance are billed by usage, and incident tooling is billed per seat. Month-to-month pricing is also roughly 20% higher than the annual rate.
Is annual or monthly Datadog billing cheaper?
Annual. For the small-team example on this page the annual rate works out at $890 a month against $1,068 month-to-month.
Does Datadog offer status pages?
Yes. Datadog Status Pages is part of its Incident Response suite, alongside On-Call and Incident Management. NoDisrupt includes public status pages on every plan, including Free.
What is a cheaper alternative to Datadog?
If you need APM, distributed tracing and log analytics, the honest alternatives are other observability platforms. If what you mostly use Datadog for is uptime, API, database and server monitoring with incident alerts, NoDisrupt covers that from $29 a month on Pro, or free for up to 10 monitors.
